The Live-In Life Skills Coach (L.I.L.S.C.) provides quality active supports, care and supervision necessary to help individuals with developmental disabilities realize their full potential while living in a residential home of The Arc of Anchorage. The L.I.L.S.C. resides in the home with the individuals similar to a normal, family like setting. The L.I.L.S.C. is responsible for assisting individuals in pursuing their personal dreams and goals related to community activities, social interactions, essential life skills and personal hygiene tasks. The L.I.L.S.C. ensures the health, safety, and well-being of each individual in the home. Additionally, the L.I.L.S.C. ensures that the homes are well maintained and cared for. The L.I.L.S.C. also provides transportation for the individual residents to various outings, appointments or work. This position may work independently and maintains close contact with the assigned supervisor and the assigned team. The job atmosphere is based on the individuals’ needs. The work site for this job will be located in a residential home owned or operated by The Arc. The L.I.L.S.C. typically works 24 hour shifts.


Required: High School Diploma/GED. Six (6) months social service/life experience with individuals who experience an intellectual or developmental disability. Customer Service may be substituted for direct experience where applicable. Six (6) months experience computer proficiency. Must have continuous use of a vehicle during work shifts, valid Alaska driver license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, current TB skin test/health screening and the ability to pass a criminal background check. Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and MANDT certification..

Preferred: One (1) year social service experience and/or one (1) year social services experience with individuals who experience an intellectual or developmental disability.
